This pair of gorgeous statement earrings are from the Post-Modern era, ca 1980s. These stunning earrings are composed of a hand-hammered sterling silver donut shape holding a fan-shaped natural turquoise cabochon framed by a sterling silver arch. The turquoise stones are gorgeous with tiny metallic flecks of pyrite, a natural occurrence with a metallic appearance. Folklore states pyrite inclusions in turquoise make for a lucky money charm. These earrings are all handmade. They measure approximately 1 7/8" tall by 1 1/8" at the widest point on the drops. The deepest point is at the center of the natural turquoise cabochon at almost 3/8". Studio-made by an anonymous artist, these turquoise and sterling silver earrings are not marked and were carefully tested.
