Description
A lovely serving dish in faience designed by Stig Lindberg t Gustavsbergs studio. The dish is 21 x 17 cm (8.4" x 6.8") and in mint condition. It´s marked as on photo. This bowl was painted by the faience painter Eva Bergman at Gustavsberg In 1942, Gustavsberg opened the exhibition “Faience painted in spring” in Stockholm. The press screening of this exhibition was attended by a lot of journalists because an invitation card made of faience had been sent out, which can perhaps be considered one of the first ingenious PR strategies in the industry. These faiences became incredibly popular and have since become somewhat of a hallmark of Stig Lindberg’s design. The forms were created by Stig Lindberg and Gustavsberg had a number of faience painters who painted these characteristic patterns.y. This was the second piece I purchased from Nordic Design Market and I'm sure there will be a third! The object was exactly as described, the shipping/packaging was a great value and very well secured. Thanks for being so accommodating, I appreciate it.
