Studio Art Glass Ball Vase Vintage 2003 Spotted Spatter Cased Pink Agate Style Description and Item Information Up for sale is this gorgeous, vintage studio art glass ball vase. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This cased piece has a spotted exterior in shades of cranberry pink, golden yellow, and white, and the interior is blue and white. The exterior looks like some type of exotic agate. The vase is approximately 4 7/8 inches tall, with a maximum diameter of about 5 1/2 inches. Unpacked, this piece weighs 2 pounds 6.5 ounces. The base is flat, where it was smoothed off by the artist. This would be a stunning addition to a collection of studio art glass. Identification This vintage piece is dated 2003. The engraved artist's name is difficult to make out, possibly Newsum, Newsom, Nelson, Neilson, or something similar. This is a high quality piece, and the glassblower was skilled, but I have not identified the exact artist. This piece was acquired in northern California. Condition The vase looks great overall, with no chips or cracks. It has light wear, with a few fine, scattered scratches.
