Beautiful Vintage platter or wall hanging by Rasa Saldaitis. In the 1990s her focus was ceramic art. Now she focuses mostly on paintings so these beautiful early ceramics are highly collected. This piece features a colorful Toucan in vegetation. The piece is light weight and superbly crafted. The handles are intricately layered for a raffia effect. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, repairs or hairline fractures. Measures approximately 9.5" square without the handles included. From 1984-1989 Rasa Saldaitis trained to become an art instructor at Pedagogical University in Siauliai, Lithuania. She received her Masters in Fine Arts in 1989. In 1991, She opened an art studio called “Ugne”, which translates to “Goddess of Fire”. "Ugne" specialized in decorative ceramics and paintings. In 1994, she moved to the United States. Today she concentrates primarily on painting, and her work can be found in several galleries and art shows.
