DIMENSIONS: 9.5" X 7.5" Mrs. Jessica Colebrooke (née Maycock) has been in business for 19 plus years with her studio having been opened in 1997. She is considered one of the Bahamas’ leading ceramicist being versatile in her chosen medium (clay) and producing both Fine and Applied Art. She is a graduate of the College of The Bahamas and the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work has been inspired by Bahamian history its diverse culture and splendid landscapes. All pieces are authentically hand crafted by Mrs. Colebrooke and team. Mrs. Colebrooke dedicates her life’s work towards the advancement of Bahamian Art and was award the 2015 Cacique Award. For more than sixteen years JTS Ltd. has created ceramic souvenir items that have been sold and displayed in shops and galleries throughout the Bahamas including Nassau, Grand Bahama, Abaco and Eleuthera. Jessica’s Tileworks Studio Ltd also has work on display at Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport and at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas. The studio features designs that are distinctly Bahamian. In 2015 Colebrooke was nominated for a Cacique Award in recognition of her contributions to tourism development and Bahamian creative arts generally, and won. An award she thoroughly deserves, as Jessica has led the revival and further development of the ceramic arts in The Bahamas over the last nineteen years, producing more fine art and souvenir ceramic items than anyone else in this field and helping other ceramic artists to develop and hone their talent.
