Antique Venetian " Fratelli Toso, Salviati (Workshop/Studios) "Green, Clear and Gold Flecks 1880's Italian Art Glass Fish Shaped Vase. Fish itself is 100% no cracks, no chips, no flea bites, no damage at all, running your finger lightly over every inch says smooth, clean, no structual problems and for its age that is a remarkable thing.However over 50% of the Gold Flecks are missing we belive as it is as we bought at an estate sail in mid-70's in NYC One of 25-30 pieces of MURANO Art Glass we purchased that weekend. Then later in life 2 trips to MURANO Island, off the Coast of Venice, Italy. Beautiful, antique, early Venetian / Murano hand blown green, clear and gold flecks Italian art glass with ornate fish shaped flower vase / table object. Created in the manner of the Salviati and Fratelli Toso companies, with similars dated from 1885 to 1895. The color is made up with little tiny dots of color, going from green to light clear, green & gold at the bottom. The entire piece, the fins, tail and applied foot are profusely covered in gold leaf. There is a little clear glass loop on the mouth. Would make a great piece on any curio cabinet, vanity or coffee table. Late Victorian era. Collectors item!
