George Smyth Crystalline Glaze Studio Art Porcelain Ball Shaped Weed Pot Vase DESCRIPTION: A beautifully thrown, small ball shaped vase with a very pleasing opening. It has a crystalline glaze in various colors of brown and tan. White spots in the photos are light reflections. SIZE: 4-1/2" tall and 5" in diameter. The opening is only 1/2" in diameter. MARKS: Engraved signature "Smyth" on the base. CONDITION: Excellent Condition. There are some very minor flaws in the glaze including two smaller than pin head size glaze pops (see upper half of photo 3). Otherwise there are NO nicks, chips, scratches, etc... NOTES: George Smyth is a well known studio potter who operated the Redbrush Studio in Lathrop Missouri during the 1980's & 90's. His pots were hand thrown porcelain and featured Crystalline Glazes. This perfume bottle is absolutely stunning. It is even more beautiful in person. Although it was a little on the pricey side for me, I do feel it was worth it and I am delighted to add it to my collection. It was professionally packed and arrived in perfect condition.
