TURQUOISE RAYN STUDIO'S by Jennifer Raynor Sloan ( That's me! ) **A RUSTIC Sterling Silver Ring with "Sleeping Beauty Mine" Turquoise from Arizona Size 10** I am finally listing a few pieces of my jewelry,and soon our leather bags, and some surprises! When I am not pounding sheet metal, I love to unwind,and see where clay allows me to take it. I use a variety including Sterling (.925),Pure Silver(.999),Bronze,Copper, and even Iron and Steele !! This ring was made with .925 Silver. It was rolled on a Cedar Leaf, which gave me a great relief ! She is mighty, my Cedar! She with stood a tornado on our property a few years ago.And she is extremely spiritual to me.You will see her soul in many of my projects,including this one. The clay is then made to size, and dried to a leather hard state,then fired in my kiln. It is then cleaned and honed to perfection by hand. It is given a patina to bring out the rich cedar cast. I then inlaid the ring with an antique piece of Sleeping Beauty,handed down to me by my father. Then I polished some more and sealed it with wax. Now it is ready for it's new owner. Please note, as with all my pieces,they leave my hands with a prayer to yours. I use rare turquoises and stones, mostly from North and South America's. We have so many beautiful natural resources here. And the stories behind them are part of the beauty. The owners of the Sleeping Beauty Mine stopped all turquoise mining a few years ago, with the argument that copper was more valuable. Can you hear my heart break? So if you ever find any domestic turquoise,jasper,agate,etc., grab it. You may never get the chance again! It is very easy to become a certified "rock junkie" once you hold their magic for the first time. This particular stones came from an "antique old stock" , which my dad found for me when I first started this business. This is a nice piece of history. All questions are welcomed! She has with stood many a Texas storm and a Tornado on our land. She puts her SOUL into this ring! *The ring is then molded to it's size, let dry, then sanded and honed to perfection. *This ring is solid. Although I would not wear it to do chores or heavy work.You may clean it with a damp cloth. *This could easily be used for a wedding ring.
